Graeme J. Brown
Captain Graeme has over 20 years experience in the marine industry driving daily tourist vessels carrying 600 passengers to 80 metre super yachts. In the many years of super yachting he has travelled extensively throughout the Eastern and Western Mediterranean, Caribbean, Bahamas, Central America, North Sea, Canada and the better-known areas of the USA. Graeme has been the Captain of Amphitrite (formally Vajoliroja) since 2006. His early years were spent on the family farm, growing up amongst the rugged and secluded terrain of New Zealand’s south island. He is ‘sporty’ being a tennis coach, water ski instructor and an avid diver. His past times include hiking, house renovations, reading and eating! With his knowledge and experience Graeme’s goal is to provide a relaxing five star experience onboard.

Captain Alastair has been involved in the yachting industry for 15 years, working his way up from apprentice boat builder, delivery skipper, to captain on super yachts. He grew up in the coastal city of Durban, South Africa and found an early love of the ocean. He spent many weekends sailing, surfing, swimming, playing water polo, anything that involved water or the ocean. His father was a master mariner and that set Alastair to follow a similar path. His career has taken him to most parts of the world including South Africa, the eastern & western Mediterranean, Asia including China and Singapore, Central & South America, the east coast of the USA and the greater Caribbean and Bahamas. He has also traversed both the Suez & Panama canals. Alastair’s hobbies include surfing, snow boarding, wakeboarding, scuba diving, watching rugby and playing squash. With Alastair’s personality and experience he aims to provide a relaxing five star experience onboard.

Cushla grew up in the South Island of New Zealand. After doing a Bachelor of education degree she decided to use her new skills teaching abroad in Australia and then Germany. She also worked in High end hospitality while in Sydney Australia and thoroughly enjoyed being trained in fine dining and silver service. While on vacation in Nice she was introduced to the wonderful world of yachting and made a decision to join the industry. After 10 years she still enjoys the adventure that yachting has to offer. Cushla completed her WSTC level 2 wine course and is pleased to utilities her extensive knowledge of wine and spirits to ensure all meals are paired correctly. She is also an avid diver, completed her Dive Master in 2004 and has managed to dive all over the world since then. She loves to travel and her passions are water sports, running, horse riding and reading. Cushla has completed all safety and training modules.

James has always been around water, growing up near a large fresh water lake in Cape Town. He has always had a keen interest in sailing and watersports, actively competing in regattas around South Africa as well as offshore racing. From a young age James had the good fortune of being exposed to a practical and hands on upbringing building aeroplanes at home. It remains one of his passions. Other hobbies include mountain biking, trail running and swimming. He is also a Padi Advanced Open Water Diver. James joined the yachting industry in 2002 working on both sailing yachts and motor yachts. He has completed his Y3 Chief Engineering license and all safety and training certificates.

Lee was born in Kent in England but now happily lives in Canada amongst the numerous lakes and maple trees. He started on his first yacht when he was just 17, since then he has worked on a wide range of vessels from 144 GRT to 1,226 GRT including motor yachts and large sailing yachts. Completing 9 transatlantic crossings as well as cruising in the Pacific, Caribbean, Mediterranean and Baltic seas. When not at sea Lee enjoys exploring the world by motorbike, hiking, camping and time spent at home with is dog. He has completed all safety and training certificates.

Dayne grew up in Cape Town, South Africa. He found his passion for the water here making it into the 1st team surfing squad and swimming for his province. On leaving school Dayne studied photography then moved to London for 2 years to work in the corporate environment. Dayne first joined Amphitrite as a deckhand in 2007, he left after 3 years to become 2nd Officer of a 1000 ton vessel cruising the Mediterranean. He then joined Loretta Ann as 1st Officer and made the long trip from New Zealand to the USA via the Pacific Ocean and the Panama Canal. When time permits, Dayne's other interests include: rock climbing, scuba diving, kite surfing and photography. He also enjoys fishing, skiing and any other watersports. He has completed all safety and training certificates.

Nicole is from Kitchener Ontario. She was raised in a very European household surrounded by a close family and amazing food. She attended University whilst always working in the food service industry. In 2009 Nicole moved to Paris to attend a Cordon Bleu Culinary School where she completed The Grande Diplome, superior levels in both pastry and cuisine. This led to two internships at 3 star Michelin restaurants and a continued level of education. Her love of travel led her to the yachting industry; she has been working on yachts now for nearly four years. Nicole is an outdoor enthusiast, she enjoys running, biking and swimming. She speaks English, French, Italian, Slovak and other Slavic languages. Nicole has completed all safety and training certificates.

Jason comes from a well-travelled family with a passion for the outdoor life style. His mother, father and two other brothers spent much of their free time on the beaches and in the water of South Africa’s East Coast. From a young age, Jason was always around boats enjoying fishing and watersports. He enjoyed his High School years at boarding school and on leaving, moved to the Sharks Rugby Academy in lieu of playing for the Provincial rugby squad. However, the role of his childhood life style, his love of the ocean, travelling and boats changed his career choice to that of yachting. Jason has a basic knowledge of Zulu and the Afrikans language. He loves sport, especially golf, tennis, rugby, wakeboarding and snowboarding. He has completed all safety and training modules.
Cacique, Andiamo & Private Lives
Chelsea grew up with her parents and older brother in Sherwood Park, a suburb east of Edmonton, Alberta. Much of her time was spent at a relative’s farm out in the country. With lakes nearby the summer meant being on and in the water with boats and water toys.
On leaving school, Chelsea worked part time in a sports pub for 5 years, then at a dental practice obtaining her Dental Assisting Certificate. Later she backpacked around South East Asia and Costa Rica. Whilst in Bali Chelsea completed a teacher-training course in Yoga and is now a Yoga Instructor. Her hobbies include paddle boarding, running, yoga, camping, taking her dog for walks and trying new food. Chelsea has completed all safety and training certificates.
From Australia’s east coast Shelby, the 3rd Stewardess completes Amphitrite’s interior team. Inspired by the tales and opportunities of travel told by her uncle (a seasoned yachting professional) Shelby is new to the yachting industry bringing a fresh and energetic enthusiasm to the crew. Shelby is an outdoor girl, enjoys camping, hiking and has a love for animals and wildlife. Since finishing school she has been studying a Bachelor of Science at one of Melbourne’s most prestigious universities, Shelby hopes to one day be involved in animal care and rehabilitation. Shelby has completed all safety and training certificates.
Stacey’s family moved to Turkey when she was just a year old as her father relocated to work as General Manager of a shipyard. They all lived on a boat until she was 10 and on moving ashore, Stacey spent more time in the sea than out doing all types of water sports and activities. At university she studied Product Design Technology, where her passion for art and drawing emerged.
At 16 years of age, Stacey started her career on yachts. She was dedicated to working on deck and soon developed her knowledge and skills working as delivery crew, engineer/mate and bosun.
Her hobbies include photography, video and editing, travelling and experiencing new cultures. She loves being active by swimming, playing volleyball and basketball. She is also fluent in the Turkish language.
